Grateful for: The Internet… or maybe my Husband?

March 5, 2011

I know I know, it’s been done before by many others. Been grateful for the net, for technology. This is really very true for me this week so I had to have it for my grateful for post today.

I am very so truly grateful for the Internet. I know I don’t need to sell it to those of you reading, you guys get it. Yesterday I went the day without it. It was soo painful. So very very painful. What was worse, was that I didn’t know what was wrong! I didn’t know why my lovely pc would not connect to the outside world. Nothing wrong with the hosting company, rang them and they said everything was fine and they couldn’t help me. Hubby was at work so was trying to help me from afar.

Argh! I was lost without said internet. I had plans. I had my to do list I had to get done. Friday was my day at home for working on said to do list. Tiniest Man had a 2.5 hour nap so I could of got heaps done. Argh!

After alot of swear words muttered under my breath, stomping my feet and shaking my fists around alot, my clever hubby worked out that the power cord to the modem was not working. Seriously? I never ever would have figured that out in a million years. Hubby is clever again because out come a box of leads and power packs and he found a spare one to use while we get a new one. Phew!

Ok, so maybe I should be grateful to the hubby instead?

I know what you mean! I like to think of myself as un-pluggable, but I’m SO not. Disconnected from the interwebs for very long gives me palpitations!

Makes you wonder how we ever survived pre-internet days! Your hubby and mine sound very similar… When something goes wrong technically, I yell to him for help!! šŸ™‚
