Lego Built Ferrari and Limited Edition Lego from Shell Giveaway (now closed)

March 19, 2013

This post is sponsored by Digital Parents Collective

There are times in your life where opportunities arise at the most unexpected moments. Last week I had one of those moments, I was asked along to the unveiling of something exciting by Shell, Lego and Ferrari. It sounded all very intriguing so I had to check it out.

Shell Lego

It wasn’t hard to find the particular place I was after, I just followed the guys carrying television camera’s. Security out the front, special blogger passes on the way in, guys with the camera’s and microphones at the front of the stage inside, bloggers at the back of the room standing on tippy toes trying to see what the fuss was about.

I was not expecting the full media throng but it was Grand Prix weekend and the 2 Ferrari drivers, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa were also there to hold a press conference at the same time.

Shell Lego

They also unveiled the first life sized Lego Ferrari! 200,000 Lego bricks and 810 man hours later….and then the group of bloggers get a chance to have a seat behind the Lego wheel. So much fun!

Shell Lego

Shell and Lego along with Ferrari have teamed up to release limited edition Lego Ferrari’s! There are 6 models, one will be released each week for 6 weeks starting yesterday. You can get them from Shell Express stores when you fill up with Shell V-Power. Each model is only $6 and be sure to get in fast as they will run out the door faster than a Ferrari with powered by Shell V-Power!

My 8 year old was thoroughly impressed with the range (white car not pictured), he loved the pull back motion (smallest of its kind in Lego) and all of them are now sitting pride of place on his Lego shelf.

The very best part is that I get to share some of the  Lego joy with you. 2 of my readers will get to take home the complete set for their own budding Lego Creator.

Hmmm, I’d have to say the lego creations at our house, might be suited to a Modern Art Gallery, as to be honest, i’m struggling to recognise them 🙂

All of the LEGO was joined up forming a lengthy ‘snake’. It took patience which is always to be encouraged.

My brother in law and son played Lego, just a tub of old Lego. My brother in law built the most awesome helicopter and plane you have ever seen, just old of old bits, I wish I was that creatvie! It was unreal, my son loved it!!!

As I have 3 boys, Lego plays a big part of our life – all three have different tastes and therefore have built different things. Lately I have seen a tow truck towing what ever it can, a space ship made without instructions and a army base with attack trucks and planes with lots of boosters and lasers all from their imagination.

During December, we created a different Lego creation each day, opening a new panel of Miss Six’s ‘Lego Friends’ advent calendar. It was great fun building the items and putting the whole Christmas scene together – although there were a lot of little bits. Now that we’re a month into a new puppy, the little Lego bits have been put away to ensure that they don’t get eaten. Should we be lucky enough to win one of these Lego packs, I’m sure Miss Six and stay at home hubby would willingly take a break from playing with puppy to hole themselves up in Miss Six’s room and play making cars.

My fiancé is crazy about LEGO. Our wedding is next year and we are planning to have a few LEGO features. We are planning to collect the Ferrari cars and give them to our guests as wedding favours/souvenirs! Our most recent creation has been a LEGO wishing well.

this week my grandson make a lego lolly machine. Put money in slot and smarties fall out after an arm is pushed. My purse is now empty and he is rich.

my kids seem to be trying to make carpet out of LEGO, the fact that I can barely see the floor in their bedroom would mean they are doing a great job!

Very, very, very painful carpet! Strategically placed lego pieces on the floor by my toddler girls while our eldest is at school! OWWWW!!

Sienna, who is 18 months, likes to stuff her lego through an increasing large hole in the flyscreen door. It’s fun!

We have our own Lego City.
That means we own most of the Lego City range that was produced between 2010 – 2013. I’ll post a photo on your FB page.

My 7 year old is a big fan of the freeform lego creation. His latest effort is a pirate zombie spaceship with a liferaft and “look mum, I made him a fridge in case he gets hungry”. Everything a pirate/zombie needs.

A castle, complete with a king, queen and a moat. Trying to fill the moat with water wasn’t a very good move though.

The last thing we made was a whole lot of mess.
Actually come to think of it, it makes quite a good security system. Place them on the floor before leaving 😉

All kinds of transport, from submarines, planes and cars to hovercrafts with interesting bits and pieces (such as telescopes) hanging off them. Each vehicle has its own shed or garage and Lego people to match the design. Very ingenious coming from only little kids.

What’s on display on the mantelpiece?
A princess castle built by my niece.
A pirate ship from my nephew who’s ten,
With guns aimed at the castle by Lego men.
What has my son aged two put up there?
Something he built with great care!
It contains just one lonely brick,
An airplane of course- it does the trick!

My Mum gave us our old lego box (from when we were kids) and we made a Lego city – around the monopoly game we play all holiday – just like I did when I was little with my sisters every holidays!

My LEGO loving boys have been busy creating dinosaurs and rockets. Yes I know they go together quite well don’t they! hahaha. I must admit while not all of them look quite like they should the roaring noises and blast offs lets you know they are having a a tonne of fun.
