July 10, 2013

Scooby-Doo Live! While these school holidays are wrapping up, I am pleased to let you know about something you can do with the kids next school holidays.

Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries is hitting the Australian stage and looks like a fun show for the whole family. If your littlies don’t know Scooby-Doo you can check out the shows on Boomerang on Foxtel or Austar. I am sure there are plenty of adults who know Scooby-Doo though!

Scooby Doo and Shaggy

My favourite character was (is!) Scooby. I also love the Mystery Machine they all drove around in – very cool. What I loved most was the mystery solving. It always amazed me that kids (well grown kids) could solve them.

Mystery MachineMy family and I are looking forward to this show already!

  • Melbourne on 23rd September 2013
  • Perth on 28th September 2013

Our last family outing was on Sunday, and we visited Scienceworks museum. Hubby tried to get out of it – he said someone needed to stay home with the dog – but we ended up convincing him to come along. Although he’s unlikely to admit it, I think he did enjoy it almost as much as Miss Six. Making weathervanes, watching the circus show about balance and checking out all the exhibitions meant a couple of hours flew by. Miss Six, hubby and I are all big fans of Scooby and would love to head to this show. Thanks for running such a great comp!

We went to see Disney on Ice – it was a real adventure for the boys as we got to get the train in, have lunch then get a tram to the venue. The show was fantastic. Afterwards I managed to get the boys new trainers at the Spencer Street Outlet shops. Tomorrow we are going to Queenscliff for a day out. My boys adore Scooby Doo, he’s a part of our family!

We built a cubby house that looks like a castle. Now we can have our own creepy adventures like scooby and the gang.

Our last family outing, was a BBQ lunch at the local park.. the kids are loving this weather, sun is shinning, skies are blue.. They had a blue, got much needed exercise and wore themselves out, so mum had a peaceful night.! Was bliss.

Our last family outing was to Movie World! We went there because our almost three year old is OBSESSED with Scooby Doo (flew all the way from freezing Melbourne). Unfortunately when we got there our little one was really unwell and exhausted so when he actually met the Scooby gang in the flesh he cried and ran away!

Our last family outing was to the Vintage Steam Rally over the Queens Birthday weekend. It was a great day, with lots of kids’ activities and a special appearance by Thomas the Tank. It was great to see different types of steam engines and a highlight was the burning of the dunny with the fire put out by an old fire engine.

Our last family outing was to Sovereign Hill in Ballarat and it was a fantastic day with something for everyone to enjoy. We went gold panning and found some tiny pieces of gold! We went on a carriage ride and a mine tour and all sorts of things.
Our 8yo son is a massive Scooby Doo fan and everyday I am told stories that start with “One day on Scooby Dooo……………” And I have to say I love it too, there should be more shows where the main character is a dog.

Our last family outing was to the local library to borrow some books for the holidays… not quite an exciting experience but enough temper tantrums to fill an hour!

Our last family outing was to the cinemas on the school holidays.
It was the first time the whole five of us have seen a film at the cinemas, so it was really special. My husband usually works and misses out on so much, but he had a day off and we decided to treat our three young daughters. The youngest, who is just 3, had never been to a cinema, and she loved it.
We saw Despicable Me 2. We all had a choc-top and it was a really great time.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to win; we’ve never been to any sort of stage show before so this would be awesome if we won.

Our last family outing was taking the family out to the ‘G’ to see the Tigers against the Cats. There were mixed emotions throughout the day from tears of joy from the kids to tears of frustration from Mum and Dad. On our way to the footy we happened to see an enormous Scooby Doo soft toy for sale at an op shop. In the end we just had to get it for the kids & they loved it and still do. My 2.5 year old loves ‘Saggy’ and ‘Coobs’. The game ended with the Tiges losing in a disappointing fashion so we didn’t place the Tigers scarf out the window to celberate but it did find its way around Scooby’s neck on the drive home. There was ‘Coobs’ sitting proudly on the middle console all the way home with the yellow and black scarf on. During the drive home a car hit us from behind while we were waiting at a red light. It was another Richmond supporter. Was he distracted by the sight of Scooby wearing a Richmond scarf around his neck ? I guess we’ll never know.

Our last little family outing may not seem exciting,
But our children find any day out inviting!
We headed down south to browse a market full of knick knacks,
The kids favourite part – all of the sweet snacks!
Then we braved the beach, our boys’ most-loved playground,
And got to listen to their laughter – our favourite sound.
